VO5 shampoo and conditioner only 69 cents?!

Can somebody explain to me why these products are so damn cheap? I bought them at CVS and I was like...GEHHH?! I saw reviews on Youtube about the Moisture Milks Strawberry conditioner and a lot of people use it and like it so I was shocked that I could by like 10 of these and still not go broke O.O Hell, I even bought some clarifying shampoo too because of the chlorine I knew I was going to get in my hair from last Saturday. Unfortunately I haven't used it yet since I left it in Roosevelt's car and forgot to get it that night  -___- But they both smell really good!

Then I bought some castor oil since I hear it's really good for your hair. It's strange because I think I've used it before when I was younger because the smell is very familiar but I fail to remember for sure if I did or not. The consistency of it is pretty much like coconut oil which I hate because I cannot stand putting grease in my hair but I basically just use very little of it every night and concentrate it on my ends. It's too soon to tell whether or not it's working wonders yet but if I feel it is a month from now, then I'll recommend it :D

Birthday Pool party ^ - ^

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of updating this blog. This is my last week of summer so I'm gunna try and post as much as I can before I go back to . . . ugh . . . school. Oh and there aren't gunna be pictures of the actual party because my camera sorta broke so I didn't wanna risk permanently damaging it during the party by having it near the water. Plus, I was having too much fun!

As I stated in my previous post, I had a pool party intended for the celebration of both me and my sister's birthday's (her's was June 1st, mine will be August 25th) and let's just say, the beginning was wack. First of all, when we got to the pool area in my apartments, there was a freaking FUNDRAISER going on by Statefarm T___T And there was music by a freaking DJ, free food, games, omgosh it was ridiculous how happening that place was. I've never seen that pool so full of people before ever since we moved in. They couldn't have picked a better day to do this.

So that got me a bit pissed but I was really hot trying to get everything out of my sister car to the area we decided to host the party at. What didn't help was that we were pretty behind on setting everything up. By the time it was 6pm we decided to say screw it to all the decorations we originally intended to put up for the party because at this point it was too late to rush through them especially while this extravaganza that was going on not too far from where we were at. We didn't wanna look pathetic in comparison, and trust me, we would have. The cupcakes and ice in the cooler were starting to melt, so we pretty much didn't bother with the food because it was all useless at this point. Only thing that ended up making it were the drinks thankfully.

My friends started coming around 6:30ish which made me glad because at least somebody showed up. Speaking of people showing up, I had initially invited well over 20 or so people to come but about 13 or so showed up which wasn't so bad to be honest. At first I thought it would be a lot less than that but to my surprise more people came as the night went on than I expected. My only problem was that some of the people I did invite honestly could give a shit if they let me know whether or not they were coming and that pissed me off. I know that people have other plans going on throughout the week that they cannot get out of but for you to completely blow me off is like a smack in my face ESPECIALLY since I've definitely been there for you whenever you were having your little "shindig". But it's cool, because honestly the people who did show up made that night unforgettable! And for those that I could tell genuinely wanted to come but couldn't, I still got lots of love for you! At least they tried, although I can't speak for others.

Back onto the actual night, the Statefarm group left around 7pm however the big crowd of people were still lingering around. A lot of them were college kids so I felt intimidated by being around all beer cans, cigarette smoke intoxicating the air and those muscley tatted up men . . . oh so muscley . . . .heh heh wha? Oh but yeah we kinda just chilled in one corner but they kept begging us to join their volleyball tournament. We all said no at first but then later joined because we got kind of bored so we thought, eh what the hell? I sucked to bad at it! Even when we later switched the ball to a bigger one I still stunk XD Everyone was teasing me but I ended up being on the winning team so in their face~

We partied on till about 11:30 and then as majority of my friends were already gone we decided we had to end it. Overall the night was so much fun. It was probably the best summer night I've had so far. Yes, even better than when I was in New York because I experienced this with my friends :] What else could you ask for during the summer, right? Anyway, I'll spam pics of the presents I got and end the rambling here. Thanks for reading!

From my boyfriend's sister. They knew me and my sis love gummies! I finished them the next day :]
Crazy cool gifts from Erika! I've always wanted a fragrance from Harajuku Lovers. And the mask...omg. It gets a close up of it's own.
Just look at it! I've never owned one before and I love that it has red and black accents. I can't wait to wear this for some fun occasion :D
Cute charm teddy bear from Katherine. She got it from H-Mart and I can't wait to put it in my car when I get it this December ^ ^ Yes, the perfume bottle wanted to join in on the pic. lol~
This gift was from Danielle and I definitely needed more studded earrings but my pierced holes are too small :( I have to try *cringes* breaking them in >  < Ugh! It's gunna suck.
This is from Odely. Her presents and even the card all looked like they were handmade and it just seemed so thoughtful of her to take the time to do all of this.
She even drew the cute little tokidoki icons around it and made little paper stars and origami inside of it. It's so cute!

Homgosh I had quite an eventual Thursday

I was not expecting it to go so well but man I had such a good time. I got lots to talk about in this post so you've been warned.

So yesterday I meet up with my old co-worker/friend who's also a fellow Nigerian and since I haven't seen her in ages and she's about to go off to San Diego for college I thought I should see her before she leaves. Unfortunately she was a little late and I was getting super hungry so I went to the food court and ate a wrap and just my luck I get 3 dudes trying to "holla" at me. -___- They did not look anywhere near my type nor did they have any kind of game so although I was flattered I think they got the hint that I wasn't interested when I politely kept ignoring them for my phone. lol it was just a funny situation because not everyday do guys come up to me like that. She finally showed up and we talked for about an hour and a half about so much. We even talked about our love for acting and she told me how much she got paid from doing this one commercial and I was like ADJKFLAJDALFDAFZOMG!

She said because I have more experience than her that I should look into find an agent and honestly, I'm thinking about doing so. Not so that I can make it big but Lord knows I need the money and if I can land a role in my high school productions then why not try and actually gain financial value by going out and doing a commercial of some sort, right? I mean I'm just thinking out loud here. If it happens, you all will be the first to know...well actually facebook probably will....then tumblr....and even youtube....but i mean eventually i'll post it on here ^  ^

After she and I ate we walked around and shopped (at least she did since I'm broke atm) and then she took me home and we said our goodbyes. I hope I still get to see her again someday because she's actually really cool. Hm, maybe if I ever get the chance to go to Cali I will, who knows. But anyway, I got home and got a text from Roosevelt asking if I was free and I thought hey! This would be the perfect day to come meet my mom! Now lemme just say, my mom thinks we are just friends. She just knows that he's the guy I tell her about how he's helped me with my driving and how he used to take me home after school and whatnot. He's like a brother to me...in her eyes. She has no idea that we're in a relationship and I want to keep it that way so that when I am ready to tell her, she'll be too in love with him to even care :) Eh? Ehhhhh? Smart thinking right? I mean it's not like he's a bad guy so it's not like I'm covering anything up. He's actually the only guy I've gone out with that I have no worries with introducing to the family to, but I always gotta play it safe.

So he finally showed up and my mom was actually really surprised at how tall he was compared to her...lol I probably should have warned her about that ^ ^ but they talked and although my nerves were going mad on the inside he was playing it cool and my mom was just marveling at him the whole time which....was....weird. lol thing is, my sister told me after the day was over that she really likes him. Like, she wouldn't mind me being with him when the time comes but for now I should still focus on my studies. *sigh* Nigerian parents man, ugh!

After that we left to go run errands and I bought some super cheap hair products from CVS but I'll talk about that in another post. Once we did our errands, we weren't sure where to go next so I suggested going to the lake! For a while now we've been meaning to take a trip down there but something always came up >:T But I finally knew how to get there and he had an idea as well so we drove there and after a few wrong turns and asking an old man and his dog how to get there, we finally did. We had to walk through a park to get up  really close which wasn't a big deal but there were dragonflies everywhere and the sun was faced towards us so I felt little gross but it didn't matter because I was with him.

We finally got close enough to the edge and it was so beautiful! It was the most goregous lake I've ever laid my eyes on especially because of how the sun was reflecting on it. & this was where we took our first pictures together.

We tried to make a heat on that last one but we failed -___-

my chubby legs > <" lol!
Of course I threw in some pictures of the sun setting because it was too gorgeous not to, but they don't do it too much justice since my camera's not the best one out there. We just sat there watching it set. lol I swear it seemed like a dream but I was loving every moment of it, idc if I sound sprung! So after that we went back to the car and drove to Braums to get a sundae. I've never eaten there before untill yesterday and omgosh it was so delicious and it hit the freaking SPOT!

Then he took me home and I just was so happy with how that day went especially that half. That's pretty much how I've been wanting to spend my summer but we haven't had the time to so finally being able to really was refreshing. Okay, I've blabbed on long enough now. Saturday's my birthday pool party so another post on that will most likely be up hopefully with pictures since my camera kind of broke. I really need a new one. Donations anyone? haha! jk! or not... :]

Toodles!~

Bantu knots first attempt

Sup guys? So recently I've been researching ways to keep my hair healthy since I want to take my hair journey wayyyyy more seriously this time around. Like REALLY serious. No more fucking around. I even told myself I wouldn't go to my hair dresser any longer because he's way beyond my budget and more importantly he doesn't practice using healthy techniques for my hair which I do NOT need.

For example. When I would go to him to get touch ups, he would apply the relaxer ALL OVER my hair O.O For those who don't know this, applying relaxer to your already relaxed hair is a huge no no. It's called over-processing and it does lots of damage to your hair overtime and I've noticed the texture isn't the same as it was when I first started going to him over a year ago after having him continuously do this to my hair :( At the time, I just dealt with it because knowing how he is (& most hair dressers) I didn't want to be controversial by telling him to not do that and have him get all huffy over it. & I know some of you are probably like "Well damn, it's your hair!", I'd just rather not deal with situations like that so in order to avoid it entirely I'm taking matters into my own hands :3

That's right! From now on, I'm going to start self relaxing! Well maybe not entirely "self" relaxing but I'm basically doing it at home where I can control things more. Same goes for trims, deep conditioning, and pretty much everything else inbetween. Maybe I'll go to him for weave jobs cuz I won't lie, he's AMAZING at doing cuts and hair styles but he's not for the health of the hair on his clients unfortunately :/

Man I really know how to ramble. Haha anyway the point of this post was to show you all a new protective style I learned a few days ago. It's called Bantu knots. I've seen it done before but I never really liked it. However, I do like how the styles looks once it's taken down (it's sort of like the braid out). Since this was my first attempt at doing this it's a bit funny looking but I'll show you a before and after.

In the before pic, I used an egg/mayo homemade protein treatment, washed it, co-washed it, then applied leave-in conditioner, moisturized and sealed it off and let it air dry for a bit before I did the style. I'll do a tutorial on how I did this later most likely so I won't go into explanation on how exactly I did it just yet but I'm sure most of you get the idea from just looking at the picture.

The results after I took down the knots were actually quite nice! Even though it was a little more fro-y than I expected it to be, my mom and others complimented it and I still loved how versatile the curls were. You could wear this in a messy bun without much effort or do a curly fuax hawk or even fake a curly bob (if you hair's a little longer of course). I just wish I had some bows or cute scarfs that I could have tied around my hair to make this hairstyle look more gal but it's all good. I'll hopefully be going shopping sometime this month anyway so that won't be a problem for long.

I will most likely be doing this again but maybe with 4 knots instead of 11 (<--wayyy too many for my liking but wutever) Hopefully my hair will become longer before this year's over. I want to at least reach bra strap length (bsl) but honestly I'll be happy with any inch of hair growth progress.

For those who are interested in going on a hair journey, check out these sites:

See you later!

I am now a proud member of Cherry Gyaru

After several long months of envying those lucky enough to be in fun active gyaru circles, I can finally say that I am now in one myself and with a great group of people on top! I'm actually saying this a few days late but I just want everyone to know that this is seriously happening to me :D Unfortunatley I wasn't there for the first meeting (it's fairly a new circle) but I'm most definitely going to be seeing them soon whenever the next event comes near my area ^ ^

Thing about this is, I always thought I would have to move to Cali in order to find a decent gyaru circle with members who are friendly and willing to help me on my journey to become a better gyaru but little did I know how close these guys were. I hate that the distance is a little far out because if they were located in Dallas, omg I would die of happiness!! We'd hang out like every weekend! lol maybe that's a little excessive but it's just so great to finally be around people who have the same common interests as you with the gyaru culture. There's still so much I have to learn and I hope this experience helps me grow as a gal and as a person.

Once again, a huge fat big thank you to the Cherry Gal gyarusa for welcoming me into your circle! I promise not to let any of you down. Muah! Oh and I will be updating my "Links" soon too. It's a bit outdated.

Have a nice day dolls!

Youtube Blues

Here I am yet again comparing myself to other up and rising youtubers.

Idk why I try sometimes. I feel like I inspire people, which is awesome because in a sense that was primarily my entire idea of creating a channel in the first place.

But since the very first time I made it up to now, I feel like I'm losing my muchness.

I feel like I used to be so much more . . . muchier.

Alright I know that was weak copying The Mad Hater but it's so relevant to this situation right now, I had to use it. I can't explain what it was back then but there was a huge thing I had going for me back then and now I'd be lucky if my video got up to 200 views within the first day of me uploading it which I do not understand at all because I have over 800 subscribers O.O Goes to show you the numbers mean nothing.

Back when I was starting out, I thought if I were to ever reach a number of subs anywhere NEAR that amount my channel would be bursting with people commenting each video I made and showing me love but it's like even though I've never had this many before, they're all ignoring me or no longer interested and it sucks to tell you the truth.

NO I'm not thinking of closing down my channel and reason being is because I feel like regardless of how little attention my videos are getting today, I'm proud of a select few that I know for a fact have and still are encouraging girls (especially of color) to be who they want to be and embrace their interests in Asian pop culture despite the stereotypes and lack of understanding from their family, friends, and overall society. I still get people on my facebook writing me saying thanks and how much they admire me for what I do. To be honest I almost tear up each time I read one of those ^^;

It's strange because after writing all this I think I have come to a catharsis...is that what it is? Blah! Anyway, I realized that even if I'm getting 5 views a day on a new video or a really old one, I'm only doing it for them. They're the reason why I did this in the first place. I can give a flying fuck about the numbers, the popularity, the ranking, the views, ALL OF IT!

As long as my videos are reaching out to somebody then that's all that matters. So expect more from me. I'll try not to let any of you down :)

My schedule of activies throughout my summer

Sup guys. Honestly, over the past few weeks I've realized a pattern of my last days of summer.

Monday - Friday: wake up, have a snack, get on tumblr, youtube, and facebook, eat lunch, watch Arthur, take a 2-3 hour nap, wake up again, go back on computer, eat dinner, stay up late talking on the phone or on the computer, then try to sleep. MAYBE hang out with a friend on the weekdays but that's a rarity.

Saturdays I usually go out some where and Sundays I go to church and hang out with some friends so I look forward to the weekends more than anything!

Don't get me wrong, I do other stuff like run errands with my mom, or workout, or something that requires me getting out of the house but a lot of the time it is seriously just this! That's why I've actually been active on this blog as much as I'd hate to say it. But I appreciate everyone who still comes on here to read my posts and comments on them. I don't get much of that on tumblr so I feel bad for being absent for this long. To make up for it, I'm gunna show you all some pictures of the sushi me and Vicky had at this restaurant called Blue Ocean near our apartments.

I wanted to get something I've never tried before but that place was so pricey compared the the other sushi joint I go to all the time so I went ahead and played it safe by getting this one sushi roll called Golden Cali (California roll) But it was so yummy and filled with delicious sushiness! My sister got this one that had the name Caterpillar in it and it look funny looking but it didn't taste bad...just different from what I'm used to.

mmmmm. Doesn't it make you wanna go get some? WELL DON'T! As much as I enjoyed this sushi, I went home and the next day my stomach was feeling all kinds of awful and it lasted that whole weekend. I thought I had some sort of parasite inside of me but I knew that was just me being a hypochondriac again so I just made sure to lie flat on my belly and it eventually went away. But whatever it was, it was not worth that sushi! I think it was because of the tiny fish eggs that were on top of mine (the orange stuff) but i can't really find out for sure now, can i?

First braid-out hairstyle

After uploading my latest tutorial on How to make shorts from old jeans, I took some pictures of my hairstyle because I figured some of you might have wanted to know how I did this to my hair and it's more simple than you think. I'll probably end up doing a tutorial on Youtube when I play around with different techniques but for now here's how I did this specific style you see in the pictures above ^ ^

After I co-washed my hair, I made sure that there was a lot of moisture in my hair to make my curly hair feel soft to the touch. I used Olive Oil's hair pudding (it smells really good) to hold it instead of using hairspray because hairspray dries out your hair.

Then I had my sister give me 5 rows of  braids (personally I wanted like 3) and let it dry overnight. The next morning I untangled them and used my fingered to fluff up any pieces of hair that was stuck together.

I wanted to get a gyaru look with my bangs so I straightened out my bangs and let them fall in front of my face and ended up with the look you see above!

Hope this helped some of you who are reading this! I feel like girls with naturally short hair can try this out if you're also trying to become gal and it's a really cute way to wear your hair over the summer imo :D Plus, it gives your hair a break from using heat on it like you usually would after washing your hair. Sorry I didn't make this a pictorial but like I said I will most definitely make a tutorial for this hairstyle soon.

See you sooooooon!~

Ripped Demin shorts DIY (not a pictorial sry)

Hi guys! The other day I was super bored (as usual) and I wanted to do another alteration from another article of clothing that I didn't wear. I felt like I really needed some pairs of shorts especially because of the heat so I looked up ways to make your old jeans into new cute shorts ^  ^

This is my result from a pair of capris I used to wear back in middle school that I can't stand wearing now. The material was stretchy and it didn't look fitted so I decided instead of giving it away, why not just make it into something that I will start wearing from now on? & I did!

I made a video on how to do this so if you don't fully understand my explanation, hopefully the visual on my YT should help you :]

Materials needed:
- Sharp fabric scissors
- Jeans (duh lol)
- Iron
- Jagged knife (optional)
- Twizzers (optional)
- Needle & thread
- Marker

Steps:
1. To help guide where you should cut, wear your jeans and mark where the tip of your fingers naturally fall to be on the safe side so that you don't cut off too much fabric.
2. Lay your pants on the floor and cut off where you marked.
3. Put the pants on again except this time, fold the bottom part up as many times you see fit to get your desired length. Make sure both sides are even.
4. Slowly take them off without losing the folds and use your iron (have it on a high setting) to press the folds down so they look neater and don't unfold on their own. At this point, they should already look like shorts.
5. Sow the outside and inside hems of your shorts so that you secure the folds from unfolding. You don't need a sowing machine, if you know how to hand sow then that should work just as well.

Optional steps:

To give your shorts the same look mine has, follow these few steps next.

1. Take your scissors and cut about 4-5 horizontal holes into where ever you want the distressed hole to be. Make sure they're not too far apart from each other.
2. Then pinch out the verticle blue loose threads from those holes until you finally have all of them out revealing the white horizontal ones.
3. Another cool thing you can do is cut small slits around the edges of your shorts.
4. Take your jagged knife and scrap it against the edges to make the slits look frayed and worn out. Do this as many times untill you feel like you've gotten the look you want.
5. Cut little holes (no bigger than the size of a dime), into areas of your jeans. Make sure not to cut the hole into your pocket. The whole will look neat now, but after you wash it it should also look frayed.

& that's about all I did to make these shorts :] It was actually lots of fun & it was super easy! I really was planning on buying a new pair but Lord knows I don't have the money right now. I hope this helped and if you do end up using my tutorial, lemme know :D
